The Cargo Ship MV Sinar Kudus Hijacked in Somalia

Jakarta - The cargo ship "Sinar Kudus" was hijacked while sailing off the coast of Somalia on Wednesday (16 / 3), the morning local time. To-20 crew (crew) who were on the ship was reported in a safe condition.

"Through international anti-piracy authorities and government of Indonesia, PT Samudera has received word that 20 people became citizens of Indonesia who is currently the crew safe,"the release of PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk received AFP on Thursday (17/03/2011 .)

Ships loaded with nickel was known hijacked at 14:27 pm. The ship sailed from Pomalaa, South Sulawesi (Sulawesi) to the Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Now, the main concern is safety and health of the entire crew of Indonesian flagged ship them. Liberation of the entire crew from the clutches of pirates currently also being undertaken.


Previously reported, the
Sinar Kudus ship hijacked by a group of people were 30 to 50 in the high seas of Somalia. The ship was then used as an aircraft carrier to launch an attack on another ship on Thursday.

EU anti-piracy Agency (Navfor), said the ship was used to attack the Liberian-flagged cargo ship Emperor. However, the hijacking was successfully foiled an armed security force after the shooting contest.
